Why Cain?

October 14th 2011 03:16
What is driving Herman Cain's meteoric rise in the polls? This may have something to do with it:

The percentage of Americans who approve of the job Congress is doing returned to 13% in October, matching the all-time Gallup low on this measure, first recorded in December 2010 and repeated in August.

Politicians in Washington and across the country are almost universally despised. We vote in new people again and again, and the situation only seems to get worse. People want true, revolutionary change. To have "political experience" is NOT an asset at this point. What our politicians have tried has not worked.

So...why Cain? Maybe it's BECAUSE he has no political experience. He has real-world life and business experience. He has big ideas and advocates wholesale changes to the dysfunctional policies of Washington.

I could see Herman -- in January of 2012 -- kicking open the doors at the Capitol and proclaiming the following:

"You ... people ... have ... FAILED. The American people have lost all faith in you. So sit down -- with me -- and LET'S GET BUSY MAKING AMERICA WORK AGAIN. If you don't want to do that, there's the taxpayer-funded, gold-plated door. USE IT!"

Will he get the chance? We shall see.

I pray he gets the chance, PopCon. Herman Cain is the best man for the job for all the reasons you mentioned. Of all the candidates, he's the only one who doesn't owe a boatload of political favors. No DC baggage. As a businessman, he knows what a good team can do and will create a team of experts to advise him instead of czars and yesmen. We've had enough slogans and bumper-sticker politics, it's time for a real President and a return to the Constitution.

He still has the run the gauntlet, SL -- and the media is desperately trying to discredit him now. Lawrence O'Donnell interviewed him and tried to paint him as a racist and a draft-dodger, but failed miserably.

Funny how the media and the left always get personal and ugly, isn't it? Yet if a conservative disagrees with policies, we're suddenly hate-mongers.

Even liberals were calling O'Donnell out for his blatant hypocrisy on that one.
