We're in big trouble

March 8th 2009 06:57
By most accounts, President Obama's recent meetings with British PM Gordon Brown didn't go well. Why didn't Obama handle the situation better?

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

Overwhelmed? I can understand that Obama has a lot on his plate, but he asked for this job. Surely, he thought through what he was taking on when he decided to run for president. Being "overwhelmed" is not an excuse. He's the leader of the free world. He wanted the job. Now, he's going to have to learn to walk and chew gum at the same time.

And there's this:

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

He's surprised at how busy he is? Seriously? What did he think he was signing up for -- a community organizer job? Why doesn't he have time to handle his responsibilities? What is he REALLY spending his time on? Oh wait, there's this...and this...and these. I'm not an expert in time management, but perhaps the president should have a few less White House Happy Hours and cut down on the parties. He acts like he's still on his "I'm the king of the world" victory lap. It's time to get to work, Mr. President. We're drowning out here and you're the coast guard. Why don't you turn the music down on your boat and throw us a life preserver? Or are you too "busy" and "overwhelmed" to do that?

Hey PopulistConservative, partying is much more fun than running the Country, and I don't think he has what it takes to be Commander in Chief. He is lacking in some important areas of integrity, as he is a dishonest, and two faced person.

Not to mention his sorry policies, that are killing our country already with less than two months in office. Just imagine how bad it's going to be two years from now. I believe he will make Jimmy Carter administration look good, if that is possible.

Lester, it feels like we took a little league baseball coach and made him the manager and GM of the New York Yankees. To say that he seems to be in over his head is an understatement.

It was clear from the beginning that he wasn't up to the job, PopCon and Lester. He isn't able to formulate independent thoughts and statements without the aid of his teleprompter. His policies smack of a foolish teenager who is besotted by the Utopian dreams of a "perfect world" while not having a clue what the real world is all about. His incompetence will cause us plenty of damage before he either grows up or is impeached. (Then we'll get another genius... Biden... who has the brain power of a mosquito and the mouth of an alligator.)

Let's hope the teleprompter companies in the country don't go bankrupt, SL. We'd really be in trouble then because Obama wouldn't be capable of reading his nonsensical plans to the country.
