Two new words
June 15th 2009 06:01
Here are two new words that, in my opinion, should become part of the political lexicon:
Rinosaur: A Republican politician who has been in Washington forever and who sides with the Democrats more often than the Republicans.
Dinosaur: A Democratic politician who has been in Washington forever and who sides with the Republicans more often than the Democrats.
Arlen Specter was the most obvious example of a Rinosaur before he left the GOP. Robert Byrd is a good example of a Dinosaur. Both frequently have voted against their own parties and both are Senate lifers.
Are Rinosaurs and Dinosaurs good or bad? I guess it depends on your ideology and your feelings on career politicians.
