The Joke's on Us

And it's not a funny one.
Stephen Colbert, whose comedic superiors include Pauly Shore and Bobcat Goldthwait, testified before Congress today on the treatment of migrant workers and illegal immigration.
Really? Seriously?
At a time when Americans are struggling to keep their houses and jobs, Congress decides to bring a "comedian" in to talk about the horrific treatment of illegal aliens?
What Congress SHOULD be doing is putting the CEO's who hire illegal aliens in jail. There are dozens of guest worker programs in this country. If a business decides it would rather hire illegal aliens than fill out the paperwork necessary to get workers legally, then that business should be shut down. If you shut one or two down, the rest will start DOING THE RIGHT THING. This isn't rocket science. Just enforce the law.
With that being said, how out of touch can a party be with the American people? In the recesses of their minimalist intellects, the Democrats actually thought it was a good time to talk about this issue -- and bring in a court jester to drive the point home. How much did that little piece of political performance art cost the American people? I'm sure it was quite a bit. Gosh, maybe the losers in Washington could have used the money to maybe -- I don't know -- HIRE MORE BORDER GUARDS.
The only jokes in those hearings were sitting behind desks and asking questions. Unfortunately, the country's no longer in the mood to laugh.

The Political Brief
It is sickening, but not surprising at all, that the same bunch of lunatics waste our time and money with a marginal comedian instead of actually dealing with the illegal immigration situation. These are the same pathetic bunch who removed space exploration from NASA and replaced it with the mission of making Muslims feel good.
I can't imagine them being any more idiotic or incompetent! I wouldn't mention it if I did, lest they have an excuse to do something else insane with our time and money.
Is it November yet?
