Obama leading by example
April 23rd 2009 22:03
President Barack Obama certainly made a significant contribution on Earth Day:
When you add in the fuel used for the short trips back and forth between the White House and the airport, it totals more than 9,000 gallons.
Barack Obama -- leading by example yet again.
In flying to and from Iowa today, President Obama took two flights on Air Force One and four on Marine One.
The press office at Andrews AFB wouldn’t give me the fuel consumption numbers for the 747 that serves as Air Force One without the approval of the White House Press Office, which as I write this has yet to be given.
But Boeing says its 747 burns about 5 gallons of fuel per mile. It’s 895 miles from Washington to Des Moines, so a round trip brings the fuel consumption for the fixed-wing portion of the President’s trip to 8,950 gallons.

He used more fuel yesterday (in ONE day) than I use in eight years in my gas-guzzling SUV. I'm a tree-hugging environmentalist in comparison to him.

Bush was an oil man. He didn't preach to us about global warming. He didn't preach conservation. Obama does. That is the difference and it's why Obama is a hypocrite on this issue.
And I wouldn't refer to a two-hour trip to Iowa as part of his "daily duties". He could've made that announcement from Washington. Had he done that, he would've led by example. He didn't.
Wow. You are drunk on the Obama Kool-Aid, aren't you? Bush was awful. I'm not a Bush fan. However, Obama is exponentially worse. He makes Bush look miserly. Don't believe me? Check this out.
Let me guess. Those projected deficits out to 2019 are all Bush's fault too, right? Perhaps you should "open your mind" and "expand your intelligence".
Wait, isn't Obama the president now? He's your hero, right? Maybe you should be directing your rantings at him. For what it's worth, I think Bush did a lousy job managing the war(s). He should've sent enough troops in to get the job done, get in, and get out. I do blame him for doing a terrible job at managing the war(s). If Obama wanted them home, though, he could sign the order tomorrow.
