Obama busted for drugs

Not that one. I'm talking about his (half) brother:
Many presidents seem to have wayward brothers. George W. Bush had Neal Bush. Bill Clinton had Roger Clinton. Jimmy Carter had Billy. Even George H. W. Bush had a wayward brother. I guess it's tough to be the brother of the president and always live in his shadow. Or maybe it's the Hawthorne Effect. In other words, maybe the brother's (and the entire family's) behavior changes simply because he is now being closely observed. Still, though, it's surprising how often this happens to presidents.
My question is this: How can George Obama afford marijuana when he lives on a dollar a month? Is pot that cheap in Africa? Maybe George's well-to-do sibling in America finally opened up the pursestrings and started sending him some money. If so, it looks like George is due for a "nanny state" lecture from his benefactor.
George Obama, the half brother of U.S. President Barack Obama, has been arrested by Kenyan police on a charge of possession of marijuana, police said Saturday.
Inspector Augustine Mutembei, the officer in charge, said Obama was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis, known in Kenya as Bhang, and resisting arrest.

I think your comment on wayward brothers is right on. I never held anything George W. Bush for what his brother Neal did. Although, for those who have visited my writings, I have had vehement disagreements w/his policies. I think it is even worst when it is the children. I remember Jeb Bush's daughter and her struggle w/drugs. Such members should always be loved, in my view...but at times given tough love. I remember what Martin Sheen for instance did to his son Charlie to get him to break this cycle of drugs. He still has his wayward ways, but at least he got his act together. Being a Celebrity is never easy....we just need to remember that they're human like us.

If I'd ever had a scrap of respect for him, that would have killed it.

I definitely don't hold Obama accountable for his half-brother's action (although he should be ashamed if he hasn't helped him financially -- at least a little bit). I was really just ruminating about the psychology of it all.
Speaking of children, Al Gore's son was busted for driving under the influence (drugs, I think). He was driving a hybrid, at least -- so maybe Al let him off the hook. Sort of like a morals credit instead of a carbon credit.
