John Kerry: If he only had a brain
January 31st 2007 00:38
I haven't checked lately, but I believe that if you look up the word "clueless" in the dictionary, you'll see the a picture of Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) with that half-cocked smile of his.
Just this past week, Kerry announced that he would not seek the presidency in 2008. Here is part of his statement:
It was obvious to everyone who was paying attention that Kerry had zero chance of winning. Apparently, Kerry himself was the last to realize this. He lost to a very unpopular sitting president in 2004. Why did he think America would vote for him a second time around? Selfish ambition can blind people, I suppose.
It didn't help that Kerry has continued stepping over his tongue. In an attempt to insult GWB a couple of months ago, he instead insulted the troops by implying that those who don't go to school and pursue an education would get "stuck in Iraq". He claims that his words were "misinterpreted", but he seems to have a bad habit of putting words out there that are so easily misinterpreted. The truth is that Kerry is a walking, talking horror show when there's a microphone in front of him.
Now that Kerry has bowed out of the 2008 race for president, he's hard at work trying to "strengthen our security". How does he do it? Well, he had this to say while attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland:
It took all of a day for his comments to become front page news in Iran.
What do you have to say for yourself, John? Is this how you're strengthening our country now? By attending foreign conferences and badmouthing the US?
John, please just retire from politics. You can't be trusted in public anymore. You have a sugar momma who is filthy rich. Why don't you just settle in at one of your many mansions and stop trying to help. Honestly, I just don't know how much more of your "help" we can take.

There are powerful reasons to want to continue that fight now. But I've concluded that this isn't the time for me to mount a presidential campaign. It is the time to put my energy to work as part of the majority in the Senate, to do all I can to end this war and strengthen our security.

So we have a crisis of confidence in the Middle East — in the world, really. I've never seen our country as isolated, as much as a sort of international pariah for a number of reasons as it is today.

I think it was a bad decision, but the Dems thought he was electable...especially being a Viet Nam vet. But his "strength" of military service was overshadowed because his own words kept coming back to haunt him. He had that speech slamming the military once he came back from the war. And then he had that "I voted for...before I voted against" thing.
Imagine if he was president. He might say, "We will bomb Iran" when the actual speech should've said, "We will not bomb Iran." I can see him getting mad because of being "misinterpreted" again.
