Jeb Bush giving advice

May 5th 2009 05:59
From Jeb Bush:

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Saturday that it's time for the Republican Party to give up its "nostalgia" for the heyday of the Reagan era and look forward, even if it means stealing the winning strategy deployed by Democrats in the 2008 election.

Really, Jeb? Really? Here's a thought. At least the GOP has "nostalgia" for Reagan. He was a leader. He was popular. I don't know anyone who has nostalgia for the twelve Bush years.

You think the GOP needs to leave Reagan behind. Well, I KNOW that the GOP needs to leave the Bushes behind. Maybe you're the "good" Bush. Maybe you're not. I don't know. All I know is that the country has had it with the Bushes. Your family name is mud -- and any national party that has you as its face is doomed to fail. So if you really want to help the GOP, Jebster, just go away. Take some of that family money and buy a ranch or an insurance company or a petting zoo. I don't care. All that matters is that you stop trying to be the face or the voice of the party. That is a losing proposition in every conceivable way.

Kind of like Clinton fatigue, PopCon. This is really not the time for Jeb to run for national office. Maybe in 10, 15 or even 20 years he'd have a better chance and America would be ready for him. Who knows...?

I think the time for Bushes and Clintons is over, SL. 20 years from two families is enough. The country didn't want Hillary as president and I don't think it'll ever want Jeb as president.

He might make a good Supreme Court Justice... or Ambassador... one day.

Not in my opinion, SL. He's just like his brother (or worse) on the amnesty issue and he's real smug about it. That's unacceptable to me.

I didn't mean in the near future, PopCon. Just a someday thing. Maybe he'll figure out that illegals are a bad thing... There are several things about him that I like. There could be more as time goes along and he understands the finer points of true conservatism.

I'll take a bush over a B.O. any day of the week, year, or lifetime that being said we need new blood on every level. But it's to bad that real honest candidates can't get elected because it's stolen by crooks.
