Jeb Bush giving advice
May 5th 2009 05:59
From Jeb Bush:
Really, Jeb? Really? Here's a thought. At least the GOP has "nostalgia" for Reagan. He was a leader. He was popular. I don't know anyone who has nostalgia for the twelve Bush years.
You think the GOP needs to leave Reagan behind. Well, I KNOW that the GOP needs to leave the Bushes behind. Maybe you're the "good" Bush. Maybe you're not. I don't know. All I know is that the country has had it with the Bushes. Your family name is mud -- and any national party that has you as its face is doomed to fail. So if you really want to help the GOP, Jebster, just go away. Take some of that family money and buy a ranch or an insurance company or a petting zoo. I don't care. All that matters is that you stop trying to be the face or the voice of the party. That is a losing proposition in every conceivable way.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Saturday that it's time for the Republican Party to give up its "nostalgia" for the heyday of the Reagan era and look forward, even if it means stealing the winning strategy deployed by Democrats in the 2008 election.
