Is the GOP dead?

No, the GOP is not dead.
The MSM is gleefully dancing on the GOP's (alleged) grave. Liberals are talking about the upcoming 40-year majority in Congress for Democrats. The Republicans will never hold the White House again. Right?
Wrong.
Here are the typical talking points about the current state of the GOP:
* They have been hijacked by the most radical elements of their party
* There is no leader of the party
* They are the party of "no"
* They don't have any new ideas
* Their views are outside the mainstream of America
Does that sound familiar to you? It should. That is EXACTLY how people described the Democratic Party after George W. Bush won re-election in 2004. They were disheartened and decimated. Karl Rove was talking about a permanent Republican majority.
Are you seeing the pattern yet?
Don't get me wrong. The GOP is in bad shape. They are largely clueless right now. I'm a conservative and I don't even like them.
However, the GOP will rise again. The party out of power always does. They may get their act together and proactively retake the reins of government or they may just regain power by waiting for the Democrats to screw things up. It will happen, though. It may take a year or it may take seven years, but it won't take 40 years. The Democrats aren't that good at governing and they aren't that disciplined. The sands are already seeping through the neck of their governing hourglass. It's just a matter of time before the pendulum swings back again. And when the GOP retakes control, the chattering class will claim that the Dems have been hijacked by the most radical elements of their party...and that they have no leader...and that they are the party of "no"...and...
