Good news on the energy front
June 21st 2009 04:55
Here is some good news:
Our energy problems are well-known. Anything that increases supply of an energy resource is a positive development -- especially when it's discovered on US-owned territory.
National gas reserves in the United States are much bigger than previously thought, according to a report released Thursday.
The Potential Gas Committee in Golden, Colorado, said that the estimated U.S. reserves are 35 percent higher than just two years ago, thanks to new technology that has allowed producers to drill for gas in shale rock.
As a result, reserves levels have reached the highest level since the group started tracking the information 44 years ago.

I can't believe how shallow, and narrow mind this country has become, we face energy problems that put us at the mercy of our enemies, but as soon as prices drop the heat comes off to do something about future crisis's.
But your post tells of a good news now if we could just do something with it to make work for the people.

I really think this administration wants to keep us strapped financially to further his political aspirations. Let us all look to the government for our salvation.
Good that we have more of an energy producing asset if we can just protect it from this adminstration's control.

They are notoriously bad at predictions, though. When oil was at $150, most of them were predicting $200-$250 per barrel. I wouldn't worry too much about what they say.
I do believe that Obama wants energy prices high. He all but admitted it during the presidential campaign. He thinks it'll force us to conserve. However, our nation and our economy requires the use of energy resources. Until someone comes up with a viable and cheap solution (solar, wind), we're going to be forced to use oil, gas, natural gas, etc. And high prices will only cripple an already decimated economy.

Americans have very short attention, and memories spans. I would love to see us move away from foreign oil to some we have right here at home. But seems like crisis is the only thing that get government going and usually in the wrong direction.
