Doubling down on stupid

September 29th 2011 05:37
Obama's administration is at it again:

The Energy Department approved two loan guarantees worth more than $1 billion for solar energy projects in Nevada and Arizona, two days before the expiration date of a program that has become a rallying cry for Republican critics of the Obama administration's green energy program.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu said the department has completed a $737-million loan guarantee to Tonopah Solar Energy for a 110-megawatt solar tower on federal land near Tonopah, Nev., and a $337-million guarantee for Mesquite Solar 1 to develop a 150-megawatt solar plant near Phoenix.

You would think the debacle with Solyndra would give these people pause, but they're doubling down on stupid and throwing good money after bad.

Please, for the love of Pete, can we take the checkbook privileges away from our clueless president and his merry band of losers?

UPDATE: Good grief, it's worse than I thought:

The corruption in Washington rolls right along.

The check book and Air Force One privileges, too, PopCon, and all the other "perks" in which he overindulges will (hopefully) be out of his reach in Jan. 2013.

As long as politicians are parroting the "Glo-bull warming/cooling/climate change/whatever", he'll be able to get away with more outright theft under the leaky umbrella of the "green jobs" lie. After all, his campaign coffers need refilling.

SL, they keep saying he's smart, but he continues to act stupidly. Either that, or he's deliberately trying to bankrupt the country. I don't get it. Even more, I don't get why 40% of the country still thinks he's doing a good job.

Just a guess, PopCon, but perhaps those who so eagerly supported him have begun to feel buyers remorse. Stubbornness and stupidity keep them from admitting they were wrong. If they agree that his policies don't work, they have to admit they were dumb to vote for him. And as for his vaunted brilliance... nobody he supposedly went to school with even remembers him. And his records are sealed so we aren't allowed to find out exactly how big the lie really was.

I blame the media and dumb down voters, there are some that still blame Bush.

I blamed Bush for a lot, Lester, but Obama is wholly responsible for this mess -- and he's entirely responsible for the economy at this point.

Finds an "acorn"?

No pun intended, right, Michael?
