Democrats behaving badly

August 6th 2009 07:33
Oops:

Despite their denials, influential Democratic Sens. Kent Conrad and Chris Dodd were told from the start they were getting VIP mortgage discounts from one of the nation's largest lenders, the official who handled their loans has told Congress in secret testimony.

Politicians getting perks that are unavailable to the commoners and then lying about it? I'm shocked -- SHOCKED, I tell you.

Let's hope that the voters in North Dakota (Conrad) and Connecticut (Dodd) do the country a favor and push these two special gems out of office.

From your lips to God's ear, PopCon. There should be plenty of others in the unemployment line with them, too!

It's bad enough that they got the perks, SL -- but then to lie about it and try to blame the whistleblower? I fear that their constituents won't give them their marching papers, though. Too often, the bad apples keep getting sent back.

I did see that they FINALLY convicted William Jefferson. Even after being indicted, he almost won his most recent campaign.

The miserable crooks think they can get away with anything, PopCon. It's time we remind them who they work for, and fire them to make the point.

I'm surprised Jefferson didn't win, to tell the truth, look how many other well known criminals have kept their jobs over the years and even been promoted! (Geithner leaps to mind, as does Kennedy)

I used to live in Cynthia McKinney's district. It was a horribly gerrymandered district and I lived in a conservative neighborhood that was lumped in with one of the most Democrat districts in Georgia. I'd call her office and get ignored. I voted against her, but she'd win with huge margins. The crazier she got, the more they loved her. It was maddening.

Harry Reid has always been a jerk, too, PopCon. All the years I lived in Nevada, Harry only responded to me twice, with form letters. He doesn't take calls, either. Ensign was really good about talking to his constituents, but he voted for TARP and I called and got to chew him out. Dean Heller is a really stand up guy, he's in Congress but I'd like to see him run for the Senate to replace Reid.

I haven't gotten acquainted with the politicians from my new state yet, but I will!

I like my representative (Phil Gingrey). My senators (Isakson and Chambliss) are Republicans, but I'm not a big fan of them. They are too pro-corporatist for me. They are BIG proponents of free trade (the exporting jobs type of free trade) and they tried to back amnesty for illegal aliens before they were shouted down on that one. They were right in the mix with Bush when the GOP was spending like Dems.

We need a really big broom, PopCon to sweep the trash out the doors of DC and let real people have a chance.
