Congress gets a raise

Good news! Members of Congress are giving themselves a raise:

they will get a $4,700 pay increase, amounting to an additional $2.5 million that taxpayers will spend on congressional salaries

If anyone deserves it, this Congress does! The economy is strong and healthy and it will be the best Christmas in decades due to all the great jobs that folks have as a result of Congress' stalwart efforts. And they have done SUCH a great job rooting out pork-barrel spending and corruption.

Oh, wait a minute...

LOL Very nicely said, PopCon! I just posted one about the payraise, too. I'd ask what those bozo's are thinking, but it is pretty clear. They only see dollar signs in their sleep and never dream of anything else. If their country meant half a spit to them, they'd all donate their payraise back to cover the bailout bills thay have run up on the rest of us.

They need a swift kick in the butt that lands them out of Washington DC.

Angry Electorate
Most in Congress are filthy rich, anyway. They should all work for $1 until the economy is on track again and our budget deficits are gone. That's what they're asking of the automakers, isn't it?

Doesn't that make them -- dare I say it -- hypocrites?

The Political Brief
And weasels, and crooks and jerks, PopCon. They are all of those things. They want the goodies and don't care if everyone else starves. Some of them might be really good people but the rest are giving them all a bad name. I can't seem to stop repeating myself about term limits!!!!
